BOXING
Boxing patrons of the Manawatu will bo treated to a good fight in the Opera House on Monday night when Joe Collins, of Palmerston'North, will step into the ring fitter than over to exchange punches with that two-fisted fighter of Auckland, Jack Duncan, M.M. Duncan has wins over Ernie Underwood, Ken Wright and Billy Little, has lost a disputed decision to Tommy Hansen, lost to Vic Caltaux after a hectic eight rounds, and loot' to Bos Murphy when the referee stopped ' the fight five seconds before the finish of the first round. Duncan lost only one fight in the Pacific, where he received the M.M. He is trained to the second and is anxious to prove he is too good for the local lad. L. McDonald knows all the answers in the ring and has Duncan well schooled. Collins is fit and B. O’Keefe says he will be there full of fight and will trado' punch for punch with Duncan. These two boys arc fighters. and there will not be a dull moment in the 10 rounds. The box plans are open now at Collinson and Cunninghame’s.
