METEOR’S DISAPPEARANCE
(Rec. 10 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 22. The missing R.A.F. pilot who is believed to have “disappeared” with the Meteor jet-plane is a fighter pilot, Flight-Lieutenant John Adam, says the aviation correspondent of the Daily Mail. He adds that Adam, described as a dare-devil type, visited a small inn near the airfield on Monday night, accompanied by three other R.A.F. officers. They had a couple of beers and left at closing time. A mechanic at Molesworth aerodrome stated that Adajn started up the Meteor and took off before the alarm was sounded. It was too late to stop him. It is understood that a Court of Inquiry into Adam’s disappearance will be held in the near future. The Air Ministry states that there is still no trace of the Meteor. The search is continuing.
