~ TOURNEY AT FEILDING. t Under the auspices of the Feilding Boxing Club a successful amateur tournament was staged in the Drill Hall ■on Saturday night. The hall was well filled and some good exhibitions were seen. Although more willing than scientific, the Ljouis proved entertaining and the participants were accorded a good reception. Jlie officials were: Referee, Mr Matson (Palmerston North); judges, Messrs A. (i McGregor and 1). N. Ferguson; announcer, ivir T. James : president, Mr E. Prince; secretary, Mr R. Barnett. Bason (Wanganui), 9st 121 b: This bout was an uneventful one and failed to rouse any enthusiasm. Bason, however, scored points in the final round to win. Hcsketh (Feilding), lOst 101 b, -v. [Coughlm (Wanganui), lOst 41b: Right uppercuts were delivered with much vigour by llesketh, who tried hard in the I opening round to gain a knock-out. In the second and third rounds he was again the aggressor and gained the verdict. Murray (Wanganui), list 51b, v. The Stevens twins, Potbury, Lane _ and Kreft are pupils of J. Chase's gymnasium.
