COSTLY SUGAR FIRE
(Rec. 1 p.m.) BRISBANE, Oct. 1. About 14,000 tons of bagged sugar were destroyed in a fire at the Maryborough sugar mill yesterday. The damage is estimated at £IOO,OOO. The fire followed an . explosion in some stacked sugar and it swept through the buildings so quickly that the workmen had no time to save their personal belongings.
