KAITOA WINS WELL,

HASTINGS, Sept. 30. In the presence of a largo attendance at Hastings on Saturday, Shining Ring won the Hastings Stakes very easily. Awapuni figured in. the prize money with Kaitoa and Tahli. Kaitca was having only hie second trial over, a mile and a quarter, but, being more seasoned than his opponents, ho' stayed on well to beat Capronella by a comfortable margin. Tahli, who is owned by Mr M. Millar, of Palnierston North, won the second division of the Imperial Plate very easily after being well placed all the way. The track was slow and the meeting was held in showery weather. Tho totalisator put through £44,086 compared with £39,959 last year', an increase of £4127.

Silver Crest interfered with Roto Parcra in tho Glengarry Handiscap, but the occurrence was found to be accidental.
