RUGBY JUBILEE

(Press Assn) WELLINGTON, Sept. 28 The golden jubilee of the New Zealand liugby Football Union, which fell in 1942, is to be celebrated in Wellington next year. This was decided today at a metting of the council of the union, which authorised the executive to proceed with the arrangements. It is hoped that a special feature of the celebrations will be a visit to New Zealand by an Australian team. It is also intended to stage matches in which Maori and New Zealand university teams will figure, as well as the Second N.Z.E.F. team which is touring Great Britain and Ireland in the next few months.

It was also decided to recommend to the next annual meeting that the Ranfurly Shield and trophy matches be resumed next year.
