OUTRAGE IN PALESTINE

BRITISH CONSTABLE KILLED. (10.15 a.m.) JERUSALEM. Sept. 28. A British constable was shot dead at the Central Post Office in Tel Aviv just as an explosion occurred near the building. The explosion caused no casualties. An appeal to the British Government to annul the White Paper on Palestine was made in a statement issued at the conclusion of a conference of leading Zionists and members of the principal institutions of Palestine Jewry. "Palestine Jewry declares that it will oppose the White Paper policy with all its might and will open the gates of Palestine to fellow Jews," the statement said. It added that failure to allow immigration to Palestine "at this dreadful period in the, life of the Jewish people" was tantamount to the dentil sentence upon the Jewish survivors of the Nazi massacre and rescued Jews still languishing in. internment camps under conditions of acute stress.
