ON AWAPUNI TRACKS

The tracks at Awapuni arc drying up again and were in good order this morning, although dead. The poles on the course proper, where the galloping took place, were about. 30/t out. ' Reversion (Ewan) and Solver (Waddell) were tried over a mile. which was run in 1.57, the last three furlongs in 45 2-ssec. Reversion is settling down and worked well. Gala Song (Bowness) and Fen (Urwin) slipped over three furlongs in 43 l-ssec. Red Rocket (Rout) ran the last three of five furlongs in 42 4-ssec. Broicfiold (Broughton), who appears to have benefited from his race last Saturday, galloped a mile in 1.56 4-5, the last three furlongs in 41 4-ssec. Theiolyn (Ewan) and Dileas (Tattersall) moved nicely in a traial over seven furlongs in 1.38, the laet three in 42sec. First Footing (Kendall) left five furlongs behind in 1.10. Flying Orders (Broughton) had Dutch Mary (Saunders) as a companion over half a mile run in 55scc. They could have done better. Swift Jay (Tattersall) covered a mile in 1.57. Tula (Pearce) and Persuade (Saunders) were on terms at the end of five furlongs run in 1.11 Financial (Bowness) was well clear of Insulate (Jenkins) at the end of six furlongs run in 1.23. Insulate is all at* sea j on a track that is shifty. j Kiwi Pai was much too good foi Foxbrae Aver a mile in 1.59 2-5, the last three furlongs in 47 2-ssec. Bay Robe (Tattersall) left five furlongs behind in 1.10 2-5. War Robe (Walker) was sent out to j jump four hurdles, giving her usual clever j display. . | Red Glare (Jenkins* jumped four hurdles perfectly. The intention to race him in the Waikato Hunt Cup has been abandoned and he will race next in the hurdles at Trentham. El Santo, Kirstymac, Lord Coronach, Gay Stroller and Scroll left for the Hawke’s Bay meeting yesterday. _ The remainder of the Awapuni horses will go tomorrow.
