At the Hastings Golf Club tournament the Manawatu Club was well represented. The championship' 1 title was won by J. L. Black who beat the last year’s winner. E. J. Astin (Manawutu), in one of the semifinals. In the fiisl round Astin beat T. Garrod. 2 and I,'N. H. Amon (Rangitikei) beat R. B. Cameron, 5 and 4; and A. Murloy beat G. Grierson (Manawatu), 3 and 1. In the second round Astin beat Wagg, 5 and 4; and Oliver beat Amon, 3 and 2. Black beat Astin. 6 and 5 in the semi-final, and in the final Black beat D. Oliver 1 up. In the first round of the Longlands handicap W. E. Greenbtfnk (Manawatu) beat W. Rust, 7 and 5, and H. Grieve beat R. S. Shand (Manawatu), 5 and 4. Greenbank beat MacDonald 1 up in the second round and eliminated Campbell by a similar margin in the semi-finals. Greenbank beat A. J. Grant 3 and 2 in the final. Shand won the Longlands handicap flight competition and the Manawatu No. 1 team (Astin, Grierson and R. and J. Shand; won the teams match.
