BUILDING SOCIETY
There was a good attendance of members at a general meeting of the Manawatu Co-operative Pudding Society, Mr J. J. O’Shea (chairman of directors) presiding, when £3700 of the society’s funds were appropriated. The results were: Group No. 6, ballot, Mr J. Gardiner, Hukanui, £200; Miss E. M. Rawlins, Palmerston North, £300; group No. 7, ballot, Mrs S. A. and J. Speedy, Palmerston North, £300; Mr G. A. Small, Waipukurau, £200; group No. 7, tender, £4OO at £ls per £100; group No. 8, tender £IOOO at £4O 5s per £100; group No. 9, tender £IOOO at £4O 5s per £IOO. The chairman intimated that Group 10 was filling rapidly, some 200 shares haying been applied for since the last meeting. The first ballot in this group would be held in the near future. At a subsequent meeting of the directors further loans were finally approved. Group No. 7, £1500; group No. 8, £500; and group No. 9, £1800; while an appropriation of £SOO in group No. 8 was placed on deposit with the society’s bankers.
