At the Combined' Hunt meeting yesterday the totalisator handled. £30,493, compared with £34,998 at Hawera last year, and £34,453 for the two-day meeting at New Plymouth six years ago. LADIES’ NECKLACE HANDICAP. Ten furlongs and a half. —1-1 Old Mack (C. Waller), 1; 10-11 Mulla Park, 2; 3-3 Scartcen, 3. Ridden by tho Awapuni horseman J Fagan, Aga Kay won the Combined Hunt Cup Steeplechase at New Plymouth on Saturday very easily. He took tho lead sis furlongs from home and won casing up by 15 lengths. Aga Kay is a half-brothci by Bulandshar to those fine performers Wotan, Caine Carrington and Peter Jack son, and was trained by L. Knapp at Awapuni earlier in his carcor, when he showed a good deal of promise which he failed to fulfil. He looks as if ho will go a long way in the jumping field.
