PENSIONERS’ ASSOCIATION.
(To the Editor.!) Sir, —I noted with interest the for mation of a Pensioners’ Association recently. This organisation should fill a long felt want in the community and deserves the support of young and old. In the past the old folks have been a problem to their families as it has not been possible to include them in all our amusements and a need for some recreation centre has existed for many years. If such a centre came into being there would be a chance for the old .folks to meet people of their own age, and with kindred interests, and to spend many an interesting hour with each other. I have read in your columns many wordy battles on the way this and other countries should be run, and it would be interesting to see if some of our “arm-chair” politicians would be willing to support this movement for pensioners. With their great command of the King’s English they should be able to convince the public that assisting the old folks is every bit as important as the methods of M. Stalin and company. One way to assist would be to help our parents to form their recreation centre, by the donation of a few comfortable chairs, | etc., or perhaps somebody would let ! them have a building cheaply.—Yours, etc., YOUNG FOLKS.
