SPECIAL PETROL COUPONS
ARMED FORCES PERSONNEL. (Press Assn.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 25 Arrangements have been made tor the issue of a special type of petrol coupon, which will be available instead of a license, for the supply of petrol to servicemen on furlougn, stated the Minister of Supply and Munitions (Mr Sullivan) today. "The issue of such petrol by the medium of licenses had some drawbacks," said the Minis! er, "and it is expected that the special coupon will overcome these. The coupons will not be numbered, for they will not lapse each month as do those issued to tiie general public." The Minister stated that the coupons will be of a distinctive type and enfaced with the words "Issued lor use by members of the Armed Services". They will be of two denominations; one gallon, coloured green, and two gallons coloured red, and will be made available by local Oil Euel Controllers onlv on the production of special certificates issued by the Armed Services authorities. Commencing on September 1 the servicemen to whom the coupons are issued will be required to sign an acknowledgment for petrol in the space provided lor the purpose on the coupon.
