MISSION MASSACRED
COMPLAINT BY JAPANESE. v CHARGE AGAINST RUSSIANS. HO.uO a.m.} NEW YORK, Aug 24. The Tokio radio claims that the Russians last Wednesday massacred a Japanese military peace mission distinctly hearing a white flag, and civilian and refugees at Maoka, on Sakhalin. Ten of the mission's 13 members were killed. The Russians also turned machineguns on the civilians. The Russians on Wednesday sank a Japanese ship carrying refugees to Otaru, Hokkaido. The Osaka radio says Chinese Communists, Chinese Government troops and Russians are all making unlawful attacks on Japanese troops on the Asiatic mainland. The Communists so far have committed 70 of 79 unlawful acts and at present are moving southwards rapidly attempting to expand their footholds on the southern bank or the i'angtse River before the Chinese Government troops can arrive. "The Russians in Outer Mongolia ignore our attempts to surrender and continue the offensive as previously in their efforts to reach Peipmg and lientsin."
