COMPANY TO APPEAL

(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 24. On the grounds that three factories cannot economically make tyres for New Zealand, the Para Rubber Co will lodge an appeal against the granting of licenses to three companies. Announcing the decision of the company to appeal, Mr G. W. Skellerup (managing director) said the appeal authority from the decision of the Bureau of Industrial Licensing was Sir Francis Frazer. . As one of the original applicants for the license, the Para Company had to file its appeal within 30 days, he said, but the Industrial Efficiency Act provided that those disgruntled or otherwise affected had 90 days in which to lodge their appeals. The time allowed for the lodging of the appeals meant that the hearing by the aDpeal authority would not be held until towards the" end of this year.
