FOUR MEN ASPHYXIATED

MELBOURNE, August 20. Four members of the crew of H.M.S. Samarkand were killed today by fumes in the hold of their shijD at Geelong. Five other men were rushed to hospital suffering from the effects of fumes. The ship s mate and three of his men were asphyxiated when they went below to clear a ballast tank.
