(By “Nanette”.) Miss B. Everett, occupational therapist at the Palmerston North Hospital, lias gained the Diploma in Occupational Therapy lor a thesis on her work. Mrs B. Littlo, a member of tho. literary staff of the “Manawatu Standard,” who has resigned her position, was fareweh'ed by her colleagues on Saturday, when she was made the recipient of a gift. Lady Duff, wife of the United Kingdom High Commissioner, has consented to become first president of the New Zealand Junior lied Cross. The organisation became a council this year, its status till then being that ol a general committee. Members of St. Patrick’s Parish staffed the patriotic shop bust week ami the amount taken by them was £lO6 14s 2d. Their convener was Aliss Kearns. Articles for competition were donated as follow: Set of saucepans, from the Altar Society; electric iron, anonymous; tea set, Mr Al. Kearins; cocktail tray, Children of Alary; cake, Aliss Nrsdale; mixing howls, Aliydaines Edgar and Dick and Aliss Dickie; basket of eggs, Mesdames Johnston and Campbell; coal, Mr Bearsloy. The competitions were not drawn on Saturday on account of the victory holidays and wid bo drawn on Saturday next. Cash donations amounting to til 10s arc acknowledged. Members of the Shop Committoo have charge of tho shop this week and contributions of articles will he appreciated.
