STAFF FOR HOSPITALS
(Special) WELLINGTON, July 5. The staffing position in the Christchurch hospitals has become a matter of urgency, according to a statement made today by the Alinister of Industrial Manpower (Air McLagan). lie announced that' in order to meet this situation there is to he a special callup of unmarried women in tlie 21-22 year age groups in the district. This step has already been adopted in the Auckland, Wellington, Lower Hutt, and Napier districts. Mr AlcLa gan said that the point had been reached in Christchurch wiiere the ordinary measure of selective direction could not cope with the situation
