OBITUARY

MR A. R. BARTLETT. Mr Allan Robert Bartlett, a wellknown and popular farmer of “Kowhai”, Kimbolton, passed away at his home on June 21 after a lengthy illness. A son of the late Samuel and Charlotte Bartlett, he was horn at Upper Tutaenui, Marten, 72 years ago, and spent his early life in the Rangifcikei district. His marriage to Miss Lillian Eng took place at Rata. Mr Bartlett was farming in the Kimbolton district for over 40 years and, being of a genial disposition, had a wide circle of friends. In his younger days he was a keen footballer and later an enthusiastic supporter of the game. The funeral services at the residence and at the Kimbolton cemetery were conducted by Rev. E. E. Eleury, and a large number of relatives and friends attended to show their sympathy to Mrs Bartlett, her sons, Clive and Walter, and daughter, Mrs T. E. Henshaw. Amongst the many beautiful flowers were wreaths from Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., and members of the Rangitikei Club (Eeilding). The pall-bearers were Messrs T. E. Henshaw, T. H. Brown, C. Bartlett, H. Bartlett, T. T. Bartlett and W. T. Pratt.
