EVANGELICAL ADDRESS
In bis address entitled “Tbe Sweetest Love Story in tbe World,” delivered to a capacity attendance in the Opera House last, night. Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher commenced by saying that many bad tested the trushvoithiness of the Bible, and all the leading scholars bad come lo the conclusion that »Ho Statements in it bad been substantiated. The '-eittral message in Ihe Bible was that God had come to do for man what man could nor- do for himself. The preacher pointed out how Iho tragic sii nation ol the war had overthrown humanism and limited the possibility of men building a deeeni order for themselves. He led up lo the fact that sin was working such habits through society that only through the power of God could it he transformed. Tbe Scripture l read ng was given hv Pastor G. Fret well, of the Church of Christ.
Tin, chairman (Afr lf. .T. Kemp) informed Hie audience that wlier. the final address, “A Word of Judgment,” was given a thank-offering to be devoted entirely to the furtherance of Christian work would bo taken
