FOUR PERSONS KILLED
LEVEL CROSSING SMASH. ACCIDENT NEAR HUNTLY. (Press Assn.) AUCKLAND, June 10. 'Two people were killed instantly, two died later in hospital and three others were injured in a level crossing accident which occurred at Suttie’s Crossing, one mile north of Huntly, yesterday afternoon, when a small sedan motor-ear collided with an express goods train travelling from Auckland to Wellington. The victims were:— KILLED. ARNOLD LUTHER GUBB, aged 33, married, with one child, storekeeper, llotowaro, driver*of the car. JOSEPHINE ELIZABETH MARSHALL, aged six, daughter of Mr and Mrs George Marshall, llotowaro. GEORGE MARSHALL, aged 39, married', with three children, father of Josephine Marshall, miner, Rotowaro. MRS MABEL DOROTHY MARSHALL, aged 3U, wife of George Marshall.. INJURED.
MRS HILDA MACALLUM, aged about 40, sister of Mrs Marshall, concussion and lacerations to head.
WILLIAM MARSHALL, aged three years, concussion and shock. The infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Marshall, aged two weeks, concussion, laceration to the head and other injuries. The injured were removed to the liuntly Hospital. Mr Marshall died ill the Huntly Hospital and later the injured were transferred to the Waikato Hamilton, where Mrs Marshall die*! this morning. The' party was on the way home to Eotowaro after Mr Marshall had collected his wife and infant daughter from the maternity hospital at Huntly. The ear was wrecked and was carried about 60ft beyond the cattle stop. Mrs MacCallum, William Marshall and the infant girl were all reported to be in a very serious condition tonight.
