MANAWATU UNION. Advice that thero would bo no match between 'le Auto College and tho Paluierslon North Boys' iiign' School at i'aimcrston North (Jus season was received in a letter at the weekly meeting 01 the management committee of the Manawatu Rugby Union, Just evening. Mr K. lawyer, sports master at Te Auie College, thanked the union for the invitation to play in Palmeraton North, but said that it would not bo possible lor tho college team to travel to Falmerston North this season. Other engagements would entail a good deal of travelling. Mr A. M. Onglcy presided over a good attendance.
The Wellington Rugby Union wrote accepting a game with Manawatu at .Palmorrston North on June 4. Ihe question of a return visit would be the subject of further correspondence, was stated. The Feilding Jockey Club wrote granting permission for matches -to be played on tho polo ground "at tho racecourse. After a discussion, it was decided to divide the junior competition into two grades with eight in tho A grade and six in the B grade,,the divisions being: A grade: Longburii,: Kia Toa A, Feilding Old Boys, Marist North, Ifuia, High School, Bunnythorpe, Old Boys. B Grade: Varsity, Ohakoa, United, Iluia Mai, Marist Bros. South, Kia Toa B. It was decided that the winners of the A grade play the winners of the B grade to decide the winners of tho competition. Mr P. Skoglund asked the union to rescind the resolution regarding the appointment of a sole selector for tho senior representative team and moved accordingly, stating that it would not be possible for him to attend all the matches and thus do justice to the players. The motion was carried and it was decided to appoint two selectors —Messrs Skoglund and L. Mulline.
Flying-Officer Watman. of Ohakea, was elected to fill the vacancy on tho committee* caused by the" resignation of Mr Luoni. Tlie draw for Saturday is as follows. — Senior grade : Air Force v.
