NEW ZEALAND GEOGRAPHER

The New Zealand Geographical Society, officially founded in Wellington toward the end of last year, is making such good progress that the first number of its journal, the New Zealand Geographer, to be published half-yearly, has made its appearance. Teachers and students of geography will find in it much of interest, as will thoughtful members of the general public who have regard for the aspect of national development brought so much to the front those days. This is a subject of which, unfortunately, for many years less has been known and taught than should have been the case. This new magazine aims to interpret the Dominion to its people and to provide for readers overseas a body of geographic knowledge about this country. It aspires to stimulate within New' Zcatand the study of geography in the schools,' colleges, and University. The contents of the first issue set a high' standard.
