LEGLESS AIRMAN FREE

LONDON, April 18. Wing-Commander Douglas Bader, R A.F., the famous legless fighter ace, who was shot down and captured by the Germans two years ago, has been liberated by the Allied armies in the west.

Wing-Commander Bader, who had a special artificial leg dropped to him by parachute while in a prison camp fco replace one he had broken, was once deprived by the Germans of one of his legs for a period for attempting to escape.
