A dance was held in honour of Private 11. Stanfield in the hall, when Mr W. Harvey wished him well and asked him to accept a leather writing-case from the people of the district. Mrs V. B. Short. on behalf of the Sewing Guild, presented the guest with a set of woollen articles, and Mr C. Christian, president of the Tennis Club presented a paua shell tiki. The winners of the euchr? tournament were Mrs J. Bush and Mr P. James, consolation prizes going to Miss Clere and Mr Craine. Miss E. Mills and Air J. Millar were the winners in the lucky Gay Gordons and Mrs Christian and Mr Orr in the Monte Carlo. An item was given by Miss G. Marshall. The music was supplied by Mr A. Swensen, and Mr T. Marshall was M. C.
