SUPPLIES FOR PRISONERS

CONVOY LEAVES GENEVA

GENEVA, Mar. 8

Fifteen Canadian lorries carrying Red Cross supplies for British and Dominion prisoners in Germany, left Geneva today. At Basle on the GcrmanSwiss border, they will join a similar convoy and Both will cross into Germany. Each lorry is in the charge of a driver whose record has been thouroughly examined by the Germans. It is not known how far northward the lorries must travel- before the Red Cross parcels can be loaded on to the muchbombed German railways. The Allies have taken every possible precaution, but the trip will he hazardous for the drivers if the weather is overcast. The lorries are painted white with a Red Cross on the roofs, but with Allied planes constantly swooping down on all military-looking traffic, motoring in Southern Germany is hazardous.
