AIR OFFICERS PUNISHED
(Press Assn.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 22 Tho decision of the general courtmartial that last week heard charges against two 11.N.Z.A.F. officers has been announced. Flight-Lieut. F. S. Johnstone was severely reprimanded and directed to take rank and precedence as if his appointment as flightlieutenant bore the date February 15, 1945. In effect, the sentence means the loss of ten and a half months’ seniority. Flying-Officer S. Patterson likewise was severely reprimanded and ordered to take rank and precedence as from the same date, meaning the loss of four and a half months’ seniority. Patterson was placed under stoppage of pay until he makes good £lO in respect of the damage to the aircraft.
The court-martial arose out of unauthorised landings in a paddock near Winton.
