DISOBEDIENCE ALLEGED

(Press Assn.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 22. When John Hogan was charged at Pctone with continuing to fail to obey a direction to Wellington Woollen Mills an adjournment was sought on the ground that the summons was served only on December 15 and that the notice was too short. Counsel said also that the notice was unexpected, especially at this season of the year, and his client was in Auckland, having gone there chiefly to gather evidence to refute the charge, and the summons was left at his home in his absence. After argument, the Magistrate said the notice must be reasonable, and seven days' notice was usually considered so. The case was adjourned to January 24.
