London. —British motor-car taxation will be changed after January 1 from the present basis of horse-power to the cubic capacity of the engine. The now tax will be at the rate of £1 sterling for every 100 cubic centimetres of engine _ capacity with a fixed minimum. This will result, in lower rates of taxation, oil lower-power-ed cars, and increases on cars of 15 h.pi. upward.
