MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Before Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court, R. C. Clapham, labourer, aged 20, of Petone, was charged with being deemed to be idle and disorderly in that ■.- he had insufficient lawful means of support. He pleaded guilty and, after evidence had been given by Detective Long, was ordered to be detained in a Borstal institution for a year. E. Gatfield, labourer, aged 22, of . Wellington, was charged that he was deemed to be a rogue and vagabond in that ho had insufficient lawful means of support and had been previously convicted as an idle and disorderly person. He pleaded guilty. Detective Long gave evidence of accused's movements. Accused was sentenced to bo detained in a Borstal institution for a year.
