CHRISTCHURCH INVESTITURE
The gallantry of New Zealand soldiers and airmen in many parts of the world was recalled at Christchurch last evening when the Governor-General presented insignia, decorations, and medals to 31 members of the Armed Forces at the first public investiture to be held in Christchurch. The decorations included awards for bravery in Greece, Crete, North Africa, and the Pacific, and officers and men were also honoured for their service on the home front.
