HOKOWHITU SCHOOL
Tlio monthly meeting of tlio ifokowhitu School Committee was held with Mr A. \V. Gi'cen in the chair. Tho report of the headmaster (Sir J. T. Linohan) indicated an improvement in tho roll figures, and advised that Miss Gills, tho infant mistress, who had been on tho staff since the school opened, would bo retiring at the end of the term. In conveying the season's greetings to members of the committee, the headmaster expressed the staff's appreciation of the co-operation and courtesy shown. These sentiments were reciprocated by committee members. Advice was received from the Wanganui Education Board that all" new pupils within the Hokowliitu boundaries would be directed to _ attend that school. At a subsequent meeting with the executive of the Home and School Association, arrangements were completed for the gala day, of which full particulars will be advertised.
