CUBA STREET CHURCH

A good iittendanute of member* of the Cuba Street Methodist Church gathered for the annual congregational meeting, when the report of the year's work was J presented by the circuit steward (Mr H. i Sandford). The report covered all aspects of the church's life and witness, and revealed a healthy activity in many direction . The church membership now stands at 185, with 30 regular adherents; 23 members are serving in the Forces. The youth department is a strong feature of the chinch's life, and includes a total membership of 220. The church property is now debt free, the now parsonage is almost free, a new section has been purchased for extension work, and an amount of £3OO has been contributed throughout the year to missions and orphanage work. Officers were elected a* follow: Society stewards, Messrs F. Dorset, F. C'o'.b's, 11. Sandford, A. E. Fisher. J. Candy,, A. Smith, A. 11. F.shei, ju'nr., and E. .Tohansen , sacramental stewards, Mesdames Boyes, senr., and Dorset; vestry stewards, Messrs T. R. Dodder and W. A. Boniface. After a duet by Mcsdaiue.i Twigge and Fletcher, a humorous sketch by three members of the young women's fireside circle, Mesdamcs A. 11. Fisher, jllllr., and Buckley and Miss E. Moir, was enjoyed. The chief part of the programme was contributed by Mr M. O. Glover, who showed throe instructive and delightful talkie films. The Rev. 11. L. Fiobig was in charge of the evening.
