OVER TOKIO AGAIN

JAPANESE REPORT ATTACK LANDING ON MOROTAI (N.Z. Press Association. —Copyright.) (11.15 a.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 29. The Tokio radio stated that minor formations of enemy planes penetrated the Tokio area before . noon today. Fires were started in two places and were immediately put under control. Practically no damage was done.

The Super-Fortresses, which dropped incendiaries and flares, were given a hot reception by Japanese interceptor planes, added the radio. Chungking has picked up a Domei broadcast threatening that any American parachuting to Japanese soil will be killed on the spot by the angry Japanese people.

Tokio also announced that a powerful Japanese unit made a bloodless surprise counter-landing on Morotai last Sunday. Not a single soldier was lost. Bitter fighting is now progressing against the American troops.

General MacArthur's communique says enemy planes raided the Morotai positions at night, causing light damage. The Tokio radio claims that Japanese planes executed fierce bombing attacks on the Super-Fortress base on Saipan from last night to dawn today, causing heavy damage. Japanese air attacks on Leyte are becoming increasingly determined, reports the New York Times correspondent with the invasion forces. The enemy is relying more and more heavily on his air force as his ground operations on Leyte run into increasing difficulties. Although rain and mud restrict the ground fighting the Americans are carrying on vigorous patrol activity, making local gains in the central sector of the Ormoc corridor.
