WRIT AGAINST NEWSPAPER
SYDNEY, Nov. 29. Arthur Augustus Cahvell, Minister for Information, today took out a writ from the Hiiih Court. Melbourne, claiming damages from Brian Ponton, editor of the Sydney Daily Telegraph, for alleged libel in a Daily Telegraph'editorial published on SaturCalwell claims that as a result of publication of the editorial he has been held up to public hatred, ridicule and contempt.
"This is not the'first time we have called Mr Calwcll a liar," said the Daily Telegraph on Saturday.. "Unfortunately his lies are always' spoken under the privilege of Parliament where he is protected from the law.
