LIST OK AWARDS

The annual show of the Manawatu Kennel Club attracted no fewer than 100 entries, the highest number since pre-war years. The president (Mr J. Loarmonth), at the conclusion of the judging, which was carried out by Mr 11. Ilinchcliff. of Wellington, congratulated the prizewinners and thanked Messrs Child Bros, for the us»3 of their property.

The most successful exhibitor was Mr S. D. Geary, of Masterton, who won outright the rose bowl and Pink and Collison Cup for the best dog in show with his pointer, Stanford Statesman, which also won the Victory Stakes, a special class for a'.l breeds, as well as the Sporting Visitors' and Open Stakes. The cup for the best in show of opposite sex. was won by Mr and Mrs Young's (Wanganui) Abatian, Tala. The Sedgebrae Cup for best cocker spaniel in show went to Mrs Lacey's King Bowdler, while the cup for best greyhound in show was won by Mr ('. Riches's First Miaharo. Mr J. Robson, of Wellington, celebrated his 40th anniversary of attending shows in the. Manawatu, and it was gratifying to his friends that to mark the occasion he was successful in winning the Wellington District Cocker Spaniel Club's Cup with bis son's dogs. Awards were: Pomeranians, dogs over 71b. —Mrs A. L. Ogilvie-Brown 1 and challenge, also 1 and challenge for bitch; miniature, Mrs Ogilvie-Brown 1, challenge and best of breed.
