(Press Assn.) WELLINGTON. Sept. 8 An anti-cyclone north of New Zealand. A trough of low pressure is expected to pass during the afternoon. The forecast up to 5 p.m. on Saturday is: A temporary change to fresh south-westerlies this afternoon ; westerlies strong again tomorrow. Weather cloudy and cool; occasional showers this afternoon.. Further outlook: Cloudy westerly weather, with occasional showers.

The moon—Last quarter, September 9; new moon. September 18; fir=t quarter, September 25." Palmorston North and district today was swept by a very strong northwesterly wind, making conditions most disagreeable. The wind was gauged at Milson aerodrome at from 30 to 06 miles an hour, with gusts reaching as high as 66 miles an hour. No damage to power or telephone lines has been reported, but trees in blossom have suffered seS'erely, while many gardens are looking the worse for wear as a result of the - visitation.
