IBs "Nanette.-l The death occurred on June 26 of Mrs Mary Ann Thomas, an old resident of the Manawatu district. Born in Motupiko, Nelson, 86 years ago, Mrs Thomas wtis the second daughter of the late Mr and Mrs H. Holland, who came to New Zealand when very young, Mr Holland being aged six years and his wife four years when they landed at Akaroa. Mrs Thomas lived later in Feilding and Bunnythorpe. She was married to the late Mr Daniel Thomas in Feilding in 1879. After a short, period of residence there the. couple shifted to Foxhill (Nelson) and later to Hiwinui, where Mr Thomas was engaged in farming. Subsequently they moved to Kairanga. In 1920 Mr and Mrs Thomas came to Palmerston North to reside in retirement. Mr Thomas predeceased his wife some few years ago. For some time Mrs Thomas was a prominent member of the Cuba Street Methodist Church Sewing Guild. Left to mourn her passing are four sons—Messrs H. W. Thomas and H. N. Thomas- (both of Wellington), W. E. Thomas and P. E. Thomas (both of Palmerston North).
A bogey competition will bo played by members of the Manawatu Ladies' Golf Club to-morrow. Those unable to playaro to ring Mrs J. P. Flood before 10 a.m.
