SCHOOL CARDS
(-To the Editor.) Sir, —As people had become very interested in the discussion on the secret card system it would have been quite fun to reply to Mr Richards’s letter in your issue of the 19th. What a pity that in the whole rambling effusion he did not say anything! The only subject, Mr Richards, was whether parents were in favour of a secret recording or ‘'tabbing” of their children. For the affirmative Mr Richards was not able to say a single thing. I am interested in Mr Richards’s reference to himself or his followers as love-birds, and accordingly I looked tin a bird hook which said: “A love-bird is a small specie of the parrot familyvery showy, makes a. lot of unintelligible muttering.? and has very little sense.” As the authorities have now removed the offending clause of secrecy further comment is unnecessary.—Yours etc., W. J. CRAWFORD.
