CHRYSANTHEMUM DISPLAY
The display of blooms at the annual show of the" Pahncrston North Chrysanthemum Club, held in the P.D.C. rooms last night and to-day, was exceptional, the standard being higher than 111 any previous year. The judge (Mr Millar, of W'anganui) congratulated the club on the attainment of such a high level. The outstanding bloom of the show was a ' William Turner,'' grown by Miss I. Anderson. 'lt was a magnificent, flawless, white bloom which could compete with any in New Zealand. A specimen plant, "Beautiful Ladv," grown by Mrs i\ Poole, was also worthy of note. Mr J. G. Radford, the oldest member of the club, carried off the honours "in the three principal classes, which is a feat few can boast of. There was a splendid display of blooms by novices, which .augurs well for future shows. The results were':— Twelve varieties, R. Radford 1, .1. Hollows 2; six varieties. R.
