HAPPINESS CLUB
The April meeting of the Happiness Club was presided over by the vice-presi-dent (Mrs 1). Dredge) in the absence of Mrs J. Penketh. Mrs Came introduced the new vice-president, secretary (Mrs V. Doull) and treasurer (Mrs K. Bambery). Mrs Dredge welcomed members and visitors, with a soecial greeting to two now members. Mrs Creighton led the singing of the two'club songs, with Mrs Davey at the piano. and Mrs D. Withers and three of her pupils entertained with songs and musical items. Birthday gifts were presented to Mesdames Taylor and L. Peters, while Mrs J. C. Johnson was the holder' of the lucky cup. A competition for an apron was won by Mrs Cox. Mrs A Eraser conducted a "kitchen quiz," the winner being Mrs Taylor. It was decided to hold a sale of work towards the end of the year instead of the monthly competitions. Mrs Dredge expressed the sympathy of the members to Mrs Oolpman whose bu'sbflml ha? been wounded, and 'to Mrs W. S. Wilton, whose husband lias had to enter hospital Ihe hostesses for tho May meeting will bo Mcsdames Kirkpatrick. Kensington, Kerslake, Kennedy, Little, -Lewie.
