GUNS SILENT.

EASTER SERVICE BROADCAST LONDON. April 9. A correspondent says that on the Garigliano front the Allied gunners stopped firing for nearly an hour during which an Easter service was broadcast in German by the Allies through loudspeakers. The enemy also stopped firing during the service.

It is now reported that the German tanks sent against our positions on the Anzio beachhead are not controlled by radio hut are fitted with a cable COO yards long. Their purpose is to tear gaps in our wire entanglements, hut they have met with little success as in their latest attack our gunners destroyed three and damaged a fourth.
