RAIDS ON BULGARIA
AMERICANS OVER SOFIA
(Rec. 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 25. Allied heavy bombers yesterday attacked railway yards at Vrattsa, 40 miles from Sofia, and Skoplje. The Berlin radio reports that American bombers with fighter escort attacked Sofia at noon yesterday. Sofia has now been bombed six times in recent months mainly because it is a rail centre for the German armies in the Balkans. The raid on Sofia is confirmed by an official communique from Allied Headquarters in Italy.
