TO DESTROY ENEMY
RED ARMY'S AIM CLEAR SOVIET MESSAGE (N.Z. Press Association.—-Copyright.) (Rec. 11 a.m.) LONDON. Jan. 13. It is clearly stated that tho aim of the Red Army is total destruction of all the German forces. In a message to the soldiers obviously inspired by the Kremlin, the Moscow newspapers Pravda and Red Star say: "Your aim is the utter defeat of the enemy, destruction or seizure of all his material, and annihilation or capture of all his inen. Our offensive operations in the Ukraine are developing on an ever increasing scale and successful offensive battles are going on over a huge area." The panic note in official Nazi statements continues. The Berlin commentator, Dietmar, to-day gave another grave warning to the German people. He said: "At present we have only one aim in mind—to fight for time. Armageddon seems to be drawing to a climax. Once again the German front in the east is being subjected to another extremely grim trial, and new enormous Soviet offensives may be expected shortly."
