Recently appointed Consul and First Secretary to the United States Legation at Wellington, Mr Prescott Childs has arrived in New Zealand. He will replace the present ConsulGeneral for New Zealand, Mr Raymond E. Cox, who is to return to Washington for a new appointment. The King has approved of the award of a bar to the Distinguished Service Cross to T/Lieut. F. A. Pennington, D.S.C., for good services in the attack on Salerno. Lieut. Pennington, who was recently awarded the D.S.C. for good service in the destruction >of enemy aircraft, entered the Royal Navy on July 8, 1940. His next-of-kin is his mother, Mrs G. A. Pennington. Karori, Wellington.
