COMMON PROBLEMS

MANUFACTURING FIRMS TALKS IN~ATJSTRALTA (Press Assn) WELLINGTON, Jan 14 The New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation announces that its president (Mr Tan Mathcson) is at present visiting Australia on business which will include official discussions with represntatives of State and Federal manufacturers' organisations in Australia on problems of mutual interest. The federation states that it has been obvious for some time, from official and confidential reports, that there are many immediate problems and also problems of the post-war period which are common to manufacturers generally, both in Australia and New Zealand. The council of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation feels that the time is opportune for at least a preliminary discussion between manufacturers' organisations in these two Empire outposts of industrial production. Mr Mathcson will report to a special meeting of the council of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation on his return from Australia.
