VISIT TO RUSSIA

(Roc: 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Jan. 13. Admiral Sir Bruce Fraser, Com-mander-in-Chief of the Home Fleet, recently paid a visit in the battleship Duke of York to Vice-Admiral Golovko Commander-in-Chief of the Soviet Northern Fleet. This was the first occasion that the flagship of the Home Fleet had entered a Soviet harbour. It was soon after the visit that the Duke of York destroyed the Scharnhprst. The British ship and its complement received an enthusiastic reception from the Russians.—Official Wireless .
