; A young Palmerston North resident has received from the Secretary of the Chinese International Broadcasting Station two very ancient coins. Neither is of use in tho present currency. One was issued in tho Sung Dynasty, about 1000 A.D., and the other in the Manohu Dynasty under Emperor K’ang-hsu. Another resident who is interested in old coinls has a pair of Russian roubles dated 1839 which have been fashioned into sleeve-links.
