ALL-OUT AIR OFFENSIVE
AMERICANS PREPARING
(Rec. 10.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Dec. 22. The American air forces in Britain will soon be ready to undertake an all-out air oflensivo,” stated Major-General H. F. Miller, who has been appointed commanding general of the United States Army Eighth AitForce Service Command.
He said his command dealt with supplies, equipment, and maintaining repairs and salvage, adding: “Our real mission is to get ready for an all-out offensive against tlio Axis, and 1 can assure you that we shall be ready to accomplish this mission within, a very brief period. Within the past six months every clement of this command has been working at top speed to complete those ‘behind the line services’ with a view to a sustained air offensive.”
Asked if any of General Arnold’s “battle wagons” had reached Britain General Miller said: “They will be over. Our newer type of combat aircralt will conic here as soon as it can be turned out.”-—Official Wireless.
