Miss R. Whyte, of Victoria Avenue, is spending a fortnight’s holiday in Hamilton.

At yesterday’s meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the W.D.F.fcl. sympathy was expressed with Mrs W. F. Field (president) in her indisposition. The secretary (Miss M. Matheson) was instructed to forward a letter to this effect and wishing Mrs Field a quick recovery.

Mrs A. N. Grigg, M.P., who lias been visiting Palmerston North in the cotirso of her tour to encourage interest in the Women’s Land Service, left yesterday afternoon for Levin. Prior to her departure she paid a visit to the National Club, where she was met by the president (Mr F. L. Cubitt) who escorted her over the premises. Mrs Grigg expressed her delight with the club and said those concerned were carrying on a good work.
